FC Abalos and ALKÉ: A Strong Collaboration for Pink October 2024
In October 2024, a month dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, FC Abalos, the Athens-based women's soccer team, proudly joins forces with ALKÉ as part of the Pink October campaign.
More than just a soccer team, FC Abalos embodies a community of women united around a cause that goes beyond the boundaries of sport.
Together, they are committed to raising awareness of the importance of breast cancer screening and promoting female solidarity, both on and off the pitch.
One Team, One Mission
Founded in 2022, FC Abalos was born of the desire to create a soccer team for women, but also to build an inclusive space where everyone can express themselves freely and progress together.
Comprising over 20 female players from a wide range of creative backgrounds, the club has quickly become a vibrant community, active not only in soccer, but also in cultural events, advertising and film. This diversity and commitment to individual and collective expression has made FC Abalos a key player in Greek women's soccer.
But this team doesn't just shine on the pitch. By taking part in the Pink October campaign, they are demonstrating their commitment to a more open and inclusive society, where the taboos surrounding breast cancer are lifted.
In collaboration with ALKÉ, a European brand pioneering the promotion of women's sports, FC Abalos aims to use its platform to raise awareness of the importance of screening and encourage women to take care of their health.
Shirts with a Message
For this special edition of Pink October, FC Abalos worked hand-in-hand with ALKÉ to design a unique jersey carrying a strong message.
The pink jersey, a symbol of the fight against breast cancer, was created using an innovative artistic concept: each player left an imprint of her breast, symbolizing the diversity of women's bodies and reinforcing the sense of sisterhood within the team. This design, both artistic and committed, reflects the spirit of unity and mutual support that drives the club.
The shirts will be worn by the players at all matches in October, reminding them of the importance of screening and awareness-raising.
They will also be on sale on the official ALKÉ website, enabling everyone to take part in this prevention campaign. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a local breast cancer research organization, helping to fight this disease which affects so many women.
Impact beyond the field
The partnership between ALKÉ and FC Abalos goes far beyond soccer. It's a collective effort to raise awareness of women's health issues, while celebrating the strength and solidarity that comes from the practice of sport.
As a team committed to social progress, FC Abalos is using this project to show that women's soccer can be a powerful vector for change, both on and off the pitch.
Through this collaboration, FC Abalos and ALKÉ remind us that sport is more than just a game: it is a tool for emancipation, awareness-raising and unity. By taking part in the Pink October campaign, these women are showing that, together, they can make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.
